| Re: [Firmware] HyperWRT | Linksys | others? said by Dustyn :If this is correct... would you choose HyperWRT over the official Linksys/Ciscoe firmware? And why? There really isn't a "best" per 'se. But Avenger20 's HyperWRT sticks close to the Linksys firmware with only minor tweaks, the power hack being the big thing. The power hack will allow you to crank up the power of the radio to allow you to get signal in those hard to reach areas. DD-WRT is another good choice if you would like all the little extras that the Sveasoft firmware has, but without the hassle of paying Sveasoft for it.;)
I use both HyperWRT and DD-WRT and both work flawlessly on my WRT54g.

No, it just means that you can use both simultaniously. For example, you have one pc using PSK-AES, and onother one, that only can handle PSK-TKIP.
PSK-AES and PSK-TKIP are both safe, but PSK-AES uses AES encryption (stronger encryption), while PSK-TKIP uses RC4 encryption. -- »www.hyperspacehome.com Home of HyperWRT & HyperWAP, custom firmware for the Linksys WRT54G, WRT54GS and WAP54G.
