[Retouch] Some color adjustment help needed

Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT

I am trying to decide how to make this look better without overdoing the colors. It was not a crystal clear day. Everytime I up the contrast it looks fake.

I didn't do any noise reduction but it could use some in the sky.

I just did a very quick color levels adjustment with the GIMP. Is this what you are looking for?

A UV or Skylight filter might have cut down on some of this haze.

A number of tweaks using PSP8 that were finished of with the histagram adjustment. It could have reached the same result by itself I think. Also boosted the Saturation a bit and Sharpened 1 pixel with FocusMagic

Hi,

Contrast alone is not the answer. It is a number of different things that have to be done with your pic.

Here are a couple of edit using PSP9. I don't list what I do as it is a trial and error method to get to what I would like the picture to look like.

I hope you don't mind my edit and that you might like them.
