| SBC upgrade email to current customers
I guess SBC has decided to offer the Pro package at 29.99 to exsisting customers
I received a Member Services email yesterday with the upgrade offer. The link leads you to the DSL products page with the lower cost for both Express and Pro packages.
Course if you click the Order Now for the Express package you get stopped in your tracks with the infamous "You already have DSL service on this line....please contact our customer service center at 1-888-729-1438".
I may head over to the SBC Direct forum to check if I can upgrade. When I got my Express cost dropped I had originally asked for an upgrade but was told the RT was either full or not yet ready. I'm currently direct from the CO and that is a very very long run
So for anyone that got shut down when trying to get the lower prices - check your email from SBC Yahoo! DSL Member Services (it's on the right side titled "The Speed You Need, The Price You Want")

| You can go ahead on post in »/forum/sbcdirect if you want they'll look into your line. I took advantage of the offer last month because my one year contract was up this month anyway. -- "and he will raise you up, on eagles wings, there you are the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm, of his hands" |

| Yours was unusual, although not unheard of.
RT cutovers happen, and they're basically a good thing. It's when you don't know about the downtime because someone along the way was unaware that there would be a cutover, or ignorant as to what it would mean that leads to the problem you had.
There's a lot to be aware of, but the word beware is a bit strong, considering how many of just the right cracks things have to fall through for you situation to be repeated. |

I'm currently paying $36.99 for the pro package. Would I be able to get the $29.99 price if I agree to another year contract? |

| reply to charpaula I just called 1-888-729-1438 and spoke to Kathy who renewed me for a year on the Pro Package at the $29.99 rate; I had been paying $39.99. She said that my renewal date would start on 4/22 and run for a year at which point I would have to contact them to renew again. She also said it might be 1 to 2 billing cycles before I see the new rate, but it would start on 4/22. Took me all of three minutes to do. |

Would I be able to get the $29.99 price if I agree to another year contract? Yes... Will I need to call customer service or is this something the guys in sbc direct can take care of for me? I'm a bit leery about calling customer service after my upgrade fiasco last time. SBC customer service scares me.
Nevermind, I got it taken care of. If they try and tell you that you need the all distance package to get the cheaper price, read the e-mail to them and they will give you the $29.95 price.
Thanks SBC:D |

After contacting sbc to change my price my download speeds have dropped from 2.5 to 1.0. This is why I try not to mess with SBC customer service. |
