| Anyone in Adelphia's service area?
Just got off the phone with their commercial department and they will soon be offering a reseller agreement as well as some new speed packages. Here's a basic run down. ____ Level cost speed SB1 $69.95 384 x 4,000 SB2 $99.95 768 x 6,000 SB3 $169.95 1,000 x 4,000
SB3 will soon be increased to 1,500 by 8,000. When that upgrade is completed the monthly price will increase to $199.95.
SB1 and SB2 are with a dynamic IP. Service can be upgraded to a Static IP for $20.00 per month. SB3 is with 1 Static IP. Customers can order a block of 5 Static IPs for $35.00 per month. ____
1.5 up and 8.0 down for under $200 is unreal. We told them it was to provide bandwidth for a WISP and they had no problem. |

1 edit | reply to uscomputing We just installed Adelphia in the shop and office,,so we could have more available T-1 bandwidth to sell and to physically separate the "Sick" machines needing repair from wireless.... We bought the 2 year business agreement 384/4000,,it tops out at 384/1200 and that is the best download we can expect in our area according to the tech.
that aside, the page rendering is noticeably slower, high latency and the download speeds are erratic compared to wireless.
That is not a problem where we plan on using it,,computer repair shop doing windows updates, etc..
when customers express an interest in cable--we can show them how it actually performs, but for the bulk of internet traffic, web, e-mail etc. wireless simply is cleaner and works better.
We have not pursued reselling,,but it may be a consideration for our low priced package. -- Success is getting what you want; Happiness is wanting what you get. |

| reply to uscomputing I have only dealt with Adelphia in Celina Ohio...
We have a hotel hotspot up there and we use a 384/1500 pipe for the sharing...they usually dont fret the "temp" customers...
We have TW Road Runner here and we are working a deal for some 5mb fiber pipes...
Its gonna be cheaper than adding t-1's where we are..
Havent exactly broke the news that we are gonna resell yet...we have a sit down with the VP of biz relations next month. Thats when we are gonna lay it on em! hehe
We'll see how that goes! |
