Philly is the pits: who will afford it? Most of its population is poor and lack a college education and don't even own notebooks. |

| First off I agree Philly is poor, but go there and say it to their face. Actually all cities have poor sections, like NYC, the poohole of the world, LA, watch out for gay bikers they'll kill ya. Even Boston has poor people, the fact is most city dwellers are poor. And the part about a College education, WHO NEEDS COLLEGE? I hate people who insult non-college educated people. Maybe some people can't afford it? Maybe some like me see no point in college, maybe if you're gonna be some type of scientist or shit. I myself probably couldn't handle college, because I have always had troubles with school, Does that make me stupid, God no. Just cause you have your fancy college diploma, doesnt make you any smarter than me or one of the Philly hooligans from the hood, "Dey aint ignant". And also, I used to own a notebook, until it got wet, then the papers got stuck together. The term Notebook, is the stupids term I have ever heard, a Notebook is a Fu*king book with lined PAPER. What ever happened to the term labtop? Also I'd rather have a Desktop PC. Dont belittle someone, you dont know em. |

| You have a point -- but I am allowed: I was born and raised in Philadelphia and still live within the "Philadelphia" area.
My point is that Philly has been on a downward spiral [even the city has been very dirty as of late]. There are no good jobs in the area. If there are no jobs, who can afford to live if they can't afford computers? If they can't afford computers, then how can they afford internet access?
Getting a wireless connection then means absolutely nothing to the average Philadelphian. I am sure most would prefer something better and more meaningful as a city resident. |

| Philly and the burbs are getting back on their feet. The new tower for Comcast is a good start. The Philly area was too heavily invested into the dot bomb thing but we are shaking it off. I just landed a dream IT job in the city so there is work to be found.
We need a new Mayor who isn't so spend crazy. Rendell did one hell of a job as Mayor and the city was doing just fine. Philly is coming back. Smack dab between NYC and DC and much more affordable. We just need to do something about the Skookil Distressway. This is one more knowledge is power issues. I for one think it's fantastic for all the residents of Philadelphia. |
