Naked connections are important, and I would pair this along with speed increases, better technical support, and consumer education.

No that wouldn't be in line with DSLR's policy of Bell bashing.
Naked cable is like #1,246 or something.

"Naked Cable" would be unbundled cable, which already exists. They don't force you to take VoIP.

Did you actually read the article? It's talking about cable as well.

Isn't charging a premium for those who wish cable Internet service without CATV the same thing?
Kinda works out to the same fee (basic telephone VS. non-CATV HSI)
Read down the posts here.

I mean it's still fees being charged for not bundling services.

That's exactly what the article talks about, and criticizes the cable industry for it! Yet you slam them (obviously without reading it) for "bell bashing"?

You can get Road Runner over Earthlink for $41.95/month without Cable.

Yes, I know, Time Warner is the exception, not the rule.

What's the title of the article?
"Give us Naked DSL, stop ripping off customers who need but one service."

Not "Give us Naked Broadband".
Tell me that's not Bell bashing.
Subtle but it's still there.

Only one reference is made halfway through the article:
"$45-$50 a month for a stand-alone cable-broadband connection or VoIP service is ridiculous."

Typical, so typical.
Ho Hum.

Another bell apologist, whose panties get in a bind every time this site mentions something they do that's idiotic....

I didn't even realize there were telco fanboys until I came here. I thought it was an NVidia/ATI/Intel/AMD thing.

Go sit at (insert bell)'s newsroom and gobble up their optimistic press releases. Sounds like that's the info you're looking for. Not **gasp** criticism.

More than half the article addresses bundles, which is a cable and DSL issue.

Oh no! This morning I see a Comcast outage story on the front-page. Going to whine they're "cable bashing", fanboy?

I'm not even old enough to drink, much less understand this complaint, but I'm sure I don't like it!
That explains it all.
Shouldn't you be in school?
FYI This site has a long rich history of Bell bashing stretching back to the last millennia.
Exactly how old were you then?

And it's well deserved.

Yeah, I see there's also a history of "adware bashing", "cable bandwidth cap bashing", "cable-price hike bashing", "bad cable service bashing", etc.

Do you stomp your feet like a little girl in the comments sections of those stories, too?

Give it a rest, fanboy.
