I like this build:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050416 Firefox/1.0.4

Very fast and stable. All 54 extensions I use are woring perfectly using an old Profile.

Grail,

I decided to try this after installing 1.0.3 final last night and downloaded from a URL you gave in the mozillazine stipe thread and I noted a slightly different revision number to yours although the same date - rv:1.7.8

Most likely an update to the engine as these are built a few times a day.
I grabbed mine at 0530 EST.

I will grab tomorrows build as usual and see if I have that revision number and get back to you.

Thanks Grail but I went, like I gather you did, with a stipe 1.0.3/1.0.4 version. In the space of the last 24 hours I have used some 3 different builds (first the zip 1.03 but I did not want the Dom Inspector - I really like things lean - then the one with the installer where I can choose not to install Dom Inspector and finally s8V4) and I gather you are running two versions. Have you done some comparisons for speed between the two?

Peter

Hello Peter,

I did a minor speed test of both the Official and Stipe builds this afternoon. The difference was ever so slight. My theory on that is that the Mozilla Devs are starting to add some of the tweaks that the 3rd. Party devs have been using all along.

It only makes sense that the MozDevs would start including proven enhancements.

Right now I am using the Official Nightly zip as Stipe's build messed up a few extensions. They need updated anyway, but I will go back to Stipe's build later in the week. I bounce around and use what I think is working best on my machine.

Have a good evening.

Greg
