Hey - I had a similar expirence to you - and I work for the company -
seems as though those of us (believe it or not- that work for the company - can't even get as good a deal as the general public - I'm still paying 29.95 for my dsl - internet - with SBC - it's ok - > at&t cable - now comcast - was way faster and I never had a problem - ... SBC does have plans to aggresively build out a new fiber netwrk - but I saw firsthand from within the company the debacle back in 2000 - which was totally pr - all fluff and nothing behind it..... things are changing - ... lots of competition - currently with cable and satelite.
