512 is plenty fast for 95% of the consumers out there. 128 up has done well for years in most areas. Heck, 384 is pretty standard on many cable systems. |

| reply to rawgerz Yeah, I know there's no way FIOS will ever be in this state.. we're always slighted on any new technology. Hell, much of the state still doesn't have DSL, and many areas that do pay prices like $150 per month for 1.5Mbps down and 512kbps up. Sadly, the best broadband provider for most of the state is Adelphia, which has 5Mbps down and 512kbps up, but they ban servers, so the 512 up doesn't really do much good.
GWI is nice but they're only in a few dozen coastal communities. |

2 edits | well its better than dial up, and THATS what counts. once they find out how many people subscribe and are interested then i would worry if they did not upgrade the network to handle better. im SURE theres a way to throttle bandwidth so one person doesnt get all the speed just on their location Good for Maine i dont think they would see any major verizon roll out for some time, i just wish in PA it was legal(?) and someone to step up and make a major wifi network -- Read this! |
