| wtov and wtrf on demand and hdtv
I keep hearing about the announcement that sinclair and cox signed with comcast. My question is why doesn't the upper ohio valley have wtov9 (which is cox owned) on-demand or in hd and why doesn't this area have wtrf on-demand or in hd? Anyone know when we will get these channels and their on-demand services?
also any info on why weirton/new cumberland/newell can't get wvtx upn 28 on cable or when it will be available? |

| that just goes to prove how much tci put into their system in steubenville, follansbee and wellsbug. In comparison dimension cable put lots of money into our system here in weirton and comcast has had an easy time upgrading us to get video on demand and hdtv plus high speed internet.
One question I have is digital phone. Is it available Anywhere in the valley or are those commercials aimed towards western pennsylvania? |

not anything here, constant emails to WTOV get the same thing about 40 days or so....nothing at all from WTRF....this sucks cause we get ABC and FOX in HD and that's in Pittsburgh

WVTX UPN 28 now on cable channel 3 on the Weirton Cable. Last converation with WTOV manager Comcast has to give subscribers a 30 day notice before they can broadcast? I have mailed WTRF several times with no response. Have even tried to contact West Virginia Media who also own stations in the Charleston and Huntington area that are on cable systems broadcasting theit digital signal. Also no response. |

Weirton, WV | I just got a channel lineup emailed to me. It shows wtov9-hd on channel 211 and wvtx on channel 4. Well I know it's wrong with wvtx let's hope its not wrong with wtov hd. Also wtov9 weather plus is being added may 6th on channel 247. |

Weirton, WV | they emailed me back and said on or after april 6th for wtov in hd. I don't know if there will be any on-demand content or not though. |

Good news about WTOV. What are the local mapping rules that Comcast goes by. I don't understand why Weirton can't recieve KDKA in HD but the Chester area can. At least until WTRF is ready or what ever is going on in Wheeling. |

| someone told me they finally got a hold of wtrf a month or so ago and wtrf said they were in negotiations with comcast. I don't understand why chester can get kdka in hd and on-demand whereas weirton can't. I hope we do get wtrf in hd soon.
Has anyone heard whether or not wtov will be offering newscasts or sporting events on-demand? I would hope that would be coming along with the hd signal. |

1 edit | I couldn't wait on Comcast & WTOV & WTRF anymore, went out and spent all the money on an OTA solution...
On OTA, WTOV sends out their regular TV on Channel 9.1, and they have their Live Super Doppler 9000 whatever-it-is on 9.2. This is one good thing I like about this OTA solution, I doubt Comcast would give us this. It's very nifty, since it's live.
Still can't pick up WTRF (too windy to venture onto the roof with a huge antenna and risk falling 30 feet) but CheckHD.com says that NONE, I repeat, NONE!!! of the shows that WTRF broadcasts are in HD. This is very disappointing! I'd rather have KDKA at this point.
Edit: Ah crap, first post here and I got confused with this forum system... and now I read that WTOV will come to Comcast soon... after all that money...  ... |
