 :D:D YAY ! The 3.0/768 $29.95 is now for all that qualify. must be >11,000 ft. and if your >9000 ft. you can have your "Data Rate" set to "Fast Packet". This is good for low pings.
Note,the 3.0/768 is now the same offer as the 1.5/384, you must have a Verizon Freedom Package or sign up for the 1yr. commitment.
To get this, call DSL Billing and ask for the "3.0 upgrade @ $29.95".
If it's not too late in the day, you should have it on and working the same day. I found out about this on 3/19/05 and did not post until it was confirmed and TRUE.;)
Because this is a new offer I have yet to see it on Verizon's site. Should not be long tho.
I bet it wont be long before people will spread the word.:D

this is true... I called this morning., it is nationwide, but I do not qualify for it .... I am a little over 11000 in october of 04... DAMN YOU VERIZON!!!!!!
Called verizon back tt billing they were unable to find a loop lenght for me... hmmmm interesting,,, asked for tech support. I had a very nice man. was able to pull my loop lenght..8745ft..WOOOHOOOO 3.0 here I come!!!!!!!! |

Are you ready for this? I called, and received the update to 3.0 @$29.95, up to 3 business days to wait.
Took around a half hour on the phone however, a transfer from billing to tech, at first they said I'm too far, which I know for a fact that I'm 5014' from the CO, been that loop length for 6 years now. Told him I could hit a golf ball to the CO.
However I had to sign up for 1 years commitment. (no problem there)I did address the 4 O'clock slowdown syndrome in the Philly/NY, he did admit they where having problems with that. I hope they resolve it ASAP. heH
I'll post when, and if the speed upgrade goes through...Thanks for the headsup. |

Called yesterday afternoon to request it. Was told 3 business days. At 630pm I got an email saying I was re-provisioned. checked the speed and I was indeed re-provioned at 3/768 |

I, too, have the 3.0 package and being billed USD 39.95. I called and since I have the one-year commitment, I will now be charged USD 29.95 per month. Moreover, I received (will show on my next bill) a credit USD 70.00 for the seven (7) months I was overbilled. The agent also told me that she generated a system inquiry as to why I was overbilled. I verified with her that this inquiry would not in any way affect my current speed plan. She told me that my plan would not be affected only the billing aspect.
So call and see if you qualify for rate.

I called today and got the upgraded speed (was at 1.5MB @ 29.95).
For the record, thanks to this forum, I knew to:
1) Call VZ in June 2004 and ask to have $5.00 shaved off my monthly price
2) Call VZ and ask to have my upload rate upped to 384kbps
3) Call VZ this morning and up my speed to 3MBps @ no price increase |

But this is because for 3/786 you need to be within 10000ft... so it is easier for VOL to show max 1.5/384 because a lot of people are over 10000 I know I was in OCT '04 I was at 11800 . But as of today I am 8745. |
