compatible set top boxes?

Hi,

I currently have the Motorols DVR / HDTV set top box. I am looking for a second set top box (for another tv) and was wondering if there are any compatible HDTV boxes that I can buy instead of renting another one from Insight. I noticed on Ebay you can buy various HDTV 'cable' boxes (eg: Zenith HD-SAT520) for under 200 bucks. Can I just buy one of these and plug it in or is it not that easy?

Many thanks for any info!

Rich.

I would first make sure it isn't stolen. Theis happens alot on ebay. Then you have to call Insight to see if it compatible with the system. They have to talk to an engineer to find out. I am not aware of anone that has been able to use a box that they purchased elsewhere yet.

I have seen this a few times but it seems everytime there is an issue when doing the download. Also just this above you have to make sure this is not a stolen box, or a box that is on another insight account that is linked to a past due, as insight will not allow you to use it.

Well the only boxes you'd be able to use are by Motorola since thats what your provider uses.

But beware, most providers will not activate an MSO only box that has been bought through a 3rd party. Most of the motorola boxes you see on ebay are MSO only boxes meaning noone should be reselling them in the first place.
