TD, I bought the Toshi about 4 years ago.
Been a pretty good modem, but it does not have the "off" button like the old rental RCA did.

Looks like that one you pictured here does.
Nice feature if you only want to disconnect from being online when you leave your PC on all day, but are not sitting at it.

I run a router too for security, but it would be nice to have the off button again.

Is that their latest model?
If I am going to fork out $$$ for a new Surfboard, I would probably want to get the latest one.

I think our upgrade for NW WA. is going to happen in April from what I have heard from a super at Comcast.

Yes this is the latested modem from Moto.The button you see on the top is called a standby button or mode.Like you say it comes in handy from time to time.
