Review of your ISP

I'm wondering how many people bother to do a
review of their ISP when they get broadband Internet
Access. Also do you do updates from time to time.

Yes, and yes! Reviews of your ISP are valuable to folks who haven't obtained broadband yet, and for those who think they're the only ones who're having a problem.

... or not having a problem.

Yes and yes to the question. I have reviewed my ISP(Comcast) and updated it. When the Upgrade gets here, I will update it again.

As you can see under my name, I have done a review of my ISP. But most likely my posts are too short, and BBR cut it off, and you have to make a long post like this one is supposed to be. Hopefully this post is long enough to show my ISP, because I am trying to make it long enough.

EDIT: And it is long enough

That "nag screen" appears to nearly everyone who has not updated their review in awhile. I'm not sure what that time period is... several months, if not a year, but it's a common occurence and you do have the option of not reviewing if you choose. There is no requirement that you do a review. It's just that the site is pretty well dedicated to providing first-hand information about the various available ISPs for anyone who is "shopping" for one.

It is a couple of times a year - I think I have been prompted once this year and was prompted at the end of last year.... It used to be every 2 weeks or so - a long time ago.

Thanks for all the input....I have had the same ISP since
April 2000 and it has been great,so it is easy for me to
kindof take it for granted. But I do periodic updates.anyway.

Again thanks.

My ISP is valor Telecom (Valornet.com). That's the phone company. They partner with a local internet provider here to give us DSL (TXK.net). I've sent them the link to the review page so they can answer the questions for me. I told them, and I meant it, that they've been excellente' since day one. No problemos at all, at any time. But they never got back to me. I even told them I wanted to give them a glowing review. Go figure...

I started out with 768/128 and now I'm at 1.5/384. I gave them a link to BBR and explained that it was their opportunity for some national advertising. How ironic, the first and only black mark that they earned from me was failing to respond to my email. It just goes to show, no matter how good you get, your most important job is public relations.

I like Valor myself, i think the only problem i have noticed with them is the fact that Valor tend to over sell the bandwidth they have available in the location you will be having to use to access the internet. There ADSL is very popular from what i gather in my area.just a month or so ago they added a total of 4 T-1 cards in the D slam, and the sped was terrific, now its slowing down to much. I had to make many phone calls just to get them to upgrade my area, which was due for an upgrade eventually, it just seemed to motivate them more, in a faster fashion, so i have made a few phone calls again, and there is going to have to be an addition of more bandwidth in my area.

Other than that they are fantastic.

I did a review, but I have to update it.

No one has to do a review, but if you are a premium member & until you do a review, a message will pop up asking you to.
