Answer to FIOS????

I'd much rather deal with DSLExtreme than Verizon but FIOS is coming soon. Will DSLExtreme have an answer to FIOS or maybe even resell it?

I believe there was a ruling that said Verizon didn't have to share their fiber network like they do with DSL.

If they don't have to share it, I wouldn't expect them to.

Yep. Business is business. I was kidding =) Of course they won't share it, lose customers, and ultimately lower their profits per customer via a reseller.

Fortunately for resellers, in SBC areas where they are planning on doing ADSL2+, I think the resellers are still legally allowed to get access to the COs/RTs to do ADSL2+, but yeah the fiber situation is bad news for resellers I think.

I wonder when DSLX will put out ADSL2+. I think many others are curious as well... (hopefully this year)

I guess ADSL2+ is up to SBC, which will probably take a while.

FIOS Coming Soon

I have the FIOS contract from Verizon sitting on my desk. We will soon be offering FIOS at competitive prices across the country.

We also fully expect to have DSL2 from SBC to be available when it is rolled out. As some of you know, we were part of the DSL2 test trial with SBC in San Francisco.

Being one of Verizon's and SBC's largest partners in the nation has it's privileges.

Wow that's amazing. So you'll be using verizon's fiber lines? They're letting you do this at a reasonable cost? If your prices are competetive i'll definitly sign up when fios is available here (90815) hopefully soon .

Thank god. With their platform and your service wow! The only rub I see is that they are not limiting the download speed of their news servers...

BTW: Thanks for 3 years of wonderful service!

Not for nothing but I think I might be mis-understanding this. Could someone please explain to me exactly what it is your trying to say.

Basically your telling me that Verizon is going to lease you bandwidth in their new fiber network?

Being one of SBC's largest partners has nothing to do with ADSL2. If the customer has the CPE, and the network is upgraded, then they will get ADSL2.

So once SBC approves it and upgrades the network, everyone can benefit, large and small.
