Those little generators they have to give you cable service will not last nearly as long as the ones in a Central Office. Oh I'm going to laugh at so many people God-forbid there is a nationwide emergency. If there is a national emergency, I will guarantee two things...people will be asked to stay off the phone, and you'll get lots of "All circuits are busy" because to one listened!
So go ahead and laugh. You won't be doing it over a land line.
