| why i have vonage!
One member asked why have Vonage if you have a cell phone...
Short answer for me, I am a police officer, and my department has a policy that maintains i have a home phone. So, instead of paying 40.00 a month to BellSouth, I pay 17 a month to Vonage.
I still use my cell for everything, but I at least fall in line with my policy with Vonage! | | stridr69

1 edit | $40.00 a month for a landline? Jeeze, I pay $20.00 for my SBC hard line(including call forwarding@$3.95-which I use to forward calls to my cell fone). After the earthquake we had here in SLO county in December '93, I found out how good having the "5 9's" was. My cell phone became useless due to overload, HSI became erratic in operation, but the olde hard line worked!
Sorry, Vonage-you're only as good as an HSI..and when HSI get's to the "5 9's" in up time, then maybe I'll switch.
P.S. I have no long distance w/SBC-just local area code only. Thats what the cell phone's for. International long distance? Thats what calling cards are for. But, this is what works for me...
