I know that after upgrading my DI-624 to the Belkin, I noticed a marked (although this is subjective of course) improvement in call quality. I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth. I understood what you wrote, but in your post, you also said that there may also be some other adapters that the DGL-4300 would have problems with but weren't sure. That uncertainty was enough for me not to get the DGL-4300. Of course I could have had the same problem with my new router as well, but I got lucky I guess.
You definitely should keep the router between the modem and the adapter to get your money's worth. I think what I'd do instead of replace the D-Link is replace the adapter instead with a brand/model that D-Link used to test with so you know it should work. Adapters cost less than replacing the DGL-4300. Then I'd sell the adapter on Ebay to someone who can use it to defray your costs. | |
