| Re: Fastpath Weird Wild Stuff Hey DSLTECH I have one question for you about Fastpath and Interleave. Maybe you can get an answer for me or us on this issue from one of the engineers. Its my understanding that interleave is turned on for error correction purposes. But what I dont understand is why? There is a model set in place on systems called The OSI Model that takes care of error correction of network packets. To get into more detail Layer 2, Data Link, detects errors and Layer 4, Transport Layer, corrects errors of network packets. So, with this why have interleave turned on if the OSI Model is already taking care of this within a system? If the Interleave slows down a packet time then it should be off and fastpath on. The error correction would be taken care of within The OSI Model. |
