legalbegal, an answering service most definitely will not be able to reverse charges. They are an "answering" service, to take messages. I don't believe Answer Quick is innocent and are somehow involved. Also, if you can see your bank statement, the reversal states PLUTO is the one who reversed the charges. I wonder if the Pluto people are just calling themselves an answering service to get out of questioning. I sure hope that wherever they are located, someone is paying them a visit. I think we all deserve answers here.
Besides reporting the fraud, I would suggest everyone write/email/call their state Senators. See the following link on a hearing that is going on today: »www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7025190/
If enough of us complain, we will be heard. This type of fraud should never have happened, IMO. I want to be sure this will be investigated and someone is charged, because if they let it go, it's bound to happen again. |

Apparently you don't read well nor think clearly in your current state of rage. If you read what I said, " Never, not once, have they ever been accused of such a thing. If they had I can guarantee you it would have ended up on any of our news channels, they are fiends for getting that kind of information for a story " I never implied that I knew the whole story. If you can't tell from the way it was written that it was a PERSONAL opinion, then I doubt your legal skills also. |

| As someone that has worked in for a credit card bank (FCNB). Here is what you do. Don't call the number on the statement. Call your bank ASAP. Have them put a dispute on the transaction. Every FDIC insured bank has their own security department that will do all the leg work for you. Keep in mind, it's the banks money not yours at this point not yours. If you see another charge. Call again, change your credit card number. Bingo your done. |

| reply to legalbegal Regardless of what some keep posting about not calling the authorities and not calling the company...
Yes you should call your credit card issuer first and foremost! Get that taken care of as a first priority.
Then, yes you SHOULD call them and CALL the Baton Rouge Police Department as well! This is where we HAVE to start if the crooks are going to be caught. Obviously they are (were) answering the phones so they DO know how to contact PLUTO DATA. If they will not tell us who paid them to answer the phones and refund credit cards, then they can tell the POLICE DEPARTMEBT or a JUDGE for that matter.
There is at least 1 open case that I know of for sure. Why wouldn't you do this? The only reason anyone would have of telling someone NOT to contact the authorities is if they were obviously trying to detour everyone.
Remember also that people from "Answer Quick" or "Pluto Data" may even be posting to this thread trying to get us to lay off or do damage control. Don't listen to those posts, just do what you feel is right.
I will post this again because I know that some may not view the previous pages of this thread:
said by legalbegal :1. Confirm with directory service that the phone number is ANSWER QUICK in BATON ROUGE, LA if the representative will not confirm this when asked. 2. Contact the Baton Rouge 2nd Precinct Police Department as well as the Fraud Division: 2nd Precinct - 225-389-3863 Fraud Div - 225-389-3871 3. File a complaint at »www1.ifccfbi.gov 4. (The complaint is best in writing because it can be put in their file). 6. Contact the Department of Homeland Security at 202-282-8000. 7. CANCEL THAT CREDIT CARD NUMBER and Report it to your Banks fraud department. Be sure to give them the file number given to you by the Baton Rouge Police Department. The Contact Information on File for Answer Quick with the Louisiana Secretary of State is as follows: -Charter/Organization ID: 34345500D -Name: ANSWER QUICK TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC. -Type Entity: Business Corporation -Status: Active -Annual Report Status: In Good Standing -Domicile Address: 7415 TOWN SOUTH AVENUE, BATON ROUGE, LA 70808 -Incorporated: 12/19/1989 -Registered Agent (Appointed 12/19/1989): JERRY L. LONG, 7415 TOWN SOUTH AVENUE, BATON ROUGE, LA 70808 -Director: JERRY L. LONG This information was obtained at »www.sos.louisiana.gov/cgibin?rqstyp=cr.. Do not believe what the post says about Answer Quick not being involved. They are OBVIOUSLY right in the middle if not at the top of this scam because they are the ones answering the damn phones. -- Providing services for individuals who have been ripped off by sites such as thedownloadplace.com is my primary focus. 1 edit | I work at Answer Quick, also. The operator who answers the call doesn't know how to contact Pluto. However, someone there does have contact information, even if it just might be an email address.
The company isn't "just an answering service." Answer Quick also takes phone orders for many different small companies. Call centers can do a lot more than you'd think.
Also, the refunds didn't go through immediately, they went through the next business day. Basically, all we did was send a refund request to Pluto. They told us they "would be more than happy" to refund any disputed charge.
This account raised red flags for me right away simply because I had never heard of a credit card clearinghouse.
I'm glad that we dropped them as a client. They seemed a little fishy from day one... |

I don't understand that. Answer quick took a contract from a company they have absolutely no information about? You must have an address or phone #? If answerquick has no information, then maybe answer quick should be investigated to. You're dealing withpersonal information here not to mention credit card fraud.
I would assume if answer quick wants to maintain a good reputation they will help in anyway to track down this so called company Pluto.
A few people had mentioned about that they have charges from Pluto Nicuss (or something like that), does anyone else wonder if that is someone's name? Sounds foreign to me? |

| cvlight, I'm sorry, I skimmed that post the other day and meant to go back to it. I just read it now and am a bit confused. Have you given that information to homeland security, FBI, or a local PD?
So Pluto is a person but uses Pluto Data for CC purchases? I would have to assume this is somewhat related to the choice point case. Everyone needs to keep posting as much info as possible and keep reporting it.
I'd still like to hear some more info from the person that claims they work for answer quick. |

I'm not defending anyone and I don't have anything to hide, Unlike my co-worker, I found nothing funny about this thread
I was posting to show what I, and many other operators, thought about Pluto. I also wanted to clairify a few things.
I, personally, don't have any contact information for Pluto data. That's because I'm an operator, not a manager. All I can tell you is keep trying to get it.
I've told you everything I know. |

I'd still like to hear some more info from the person that claims they work for answer quick. I gave it to the Internet Fraud Complaint Center »www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp
and am in process of giving it to my bank Wells Fargo. I probably should give it to homeland security, FBI, and local PD, but I'm extremely busy
this post is interesting:
Pluto Data LTD is a shell corporation owned by UKData LTD (»www.UKDATA.com). It was "incorporated" 25sep02. Its' alleged UK registration # is 04545504. The alleged corp. address is 11 Church Rd. Great Bookham, Surry KT23 3pb, United Kingdom.

Nicosia is a city in Cyprus. I believe its the country's capital. "Pluto" appears to be a company located there. Because this crosses international borders, I suspect very little can be done in the legal realm. |
