[Info] DGL-4100/4300 does not work with VOIP (yet?)

For anyone considering the DGL-4100 (or DGL-4300), be aware that the Motorola V1005 TA (used by Vonage, and perhaps others) cannot be made to work behind the router (or, at least, I could not get it to work and neither could Dlink tech support). The Dlink tech concluded:

> Currently, this device is not capable of supporting VOIP
> port speed of 10 mbps. This has been tested and brought to
> the attention of our Product Management.

Of course, if anyone has experience to the contrary I would be (very) happy to hear the details of how you got it to work. Failing that, however, if TA-behind-the-router-VOIP is a key requirement for you and you want one of these routers, you may want to wait until there is a firmware update that addresses the issue (if I can dare to hope that one might be forthcoming).

As an aside, I find it somewhat ironic that a router advertised as being capable of prioritizing VOIP traffic from behind the router can't even communicate with a fairly popular TA used by one of the more well known VOIP providers).
