[wireless] wrt54g port forwarding to wireless

so im trying to port forward port 8000 (web server) to my laptop wirelessly, and it doesnt seem to want to do it. if i plug my laptop straight into the cable modem, all is well, so its not a firewall issue on my laptop.

i dont think its wireless-related either, since the weird thing is that i can access the web server through my work's computer. nowhere else can get to it though. im not sure why this is.

any help??? linksys support is useless, and ive tried all the different revs of firmware...thanks.
