Viruses and XP

I ran my windows xp box for about a year and a half without anti virus or spyware. I decided to put it on one day, just for the heck of it and it found nothing all. So how these people are getting infected, I'm not sure. You just have to be careful about what you do, what you click on (like shooting those damn monkies to get an ipod or psp). There really needs to be a manual that comes with a new computer, or is just on the desktop and you can't do anything until you read the entire thing. Yeah, it may be annoying, but it would prevent a lot of problems that people have with windows and the bashing of MS. I've been running my box for close to 3 years now, and I have only had a BSOD when my hard drive was beginning to kill itself, which has nothing to do with windows. I don't like microsoft because they charge way too much for the licensing of the software, but besides that, I don't have a problem with the company, its the people that use it, that try to blame someone else for their screw ups and lack of knowledge.

Also, I am a computer technician that gets yelled at constantly for our customer's computers not working and how it can't be their fault and i hear "i didn't change anything" , when you find out that they installed kazaa, click on those IPOD ads and open every email attachment they get. People need to take responsibility for when they screw up. And when you people go to porn sites, don't deny it when we have screen shots or a file list of the sites that you've been to under your own username on xp. but thats a whole nother topic, heh heh ...

you think it would improve if people had to read that? first there would be manufacturers that wouldnt include it... then theres the problem of how do you know people read it? and also even if theres a timelimit before you can go on many people wont read it and all in all it'll be an annoyance

Better explanation

Just wanted to give a slightly more descriptive reason why it's 8 bytes.

8 bits in a byte.

32 bits /8 = 4 bytes
64 bits /8 = 8 bytes
