| [BroadVoice] HELP setup my SPA 3000 w/ Broadvoice.
Hi, I recently purchased the Sipura 3000 and decided to go w/ broadvoice after doing research in this forum. I setup my account and go my phone number and everything went smoothly until I tried actiavting the SPA 3000. I follwed the instruction to the teeth here:
I go to the point where I'm suppose to cut and paste the http into explorer and enter my IP address in the brackets. After that I followed the intruction and then configured everything properly and clicked submit. I then get the page can't be displayed message. Since then, I have not been able to access the configuration menu at all. When I cut and paste the http address (the one where I put my IP address in) I get the message the page cannot be displayed.
I called tech support at 3am and he said the server might be down and to call back in the morning. I've called back several times and have been disconnected every single time. Longest I've been on hold was 20 minutes and got disconnected. Shortest was 3 minutes and got disconnected. Right now, I'm not to fond of broadvoice. Their customer service just stinks. I've been calling them all day and now have to go to work. I bet they will call me on my way to work when I'm not in front of the computer.
In any case, I cleared out the cookies, reset the SPA300 and still no lock accessing this (again, I accessed fine last night, but no longer):
»config.broadvoice.com:8080/spa3k-2.0.8.bin" >>/admin/upgrade?»config.br···.0.8.bin
Please help. Getting frusturated. Thanks. |

Have you tried Voxilla's configuration wizard? It's at: »voxilla.com/spa3kconfig.php . You need to register with the site to use it. -- Welcome to the 21st century. You'll do fine here. Just don't expect anything to work quite the way it is supposed to... |

| reply to bnbhoha Yes. Broadvoice customer support sucks. Even I tried to contact them several times and couldn't get anyone online. Sent few emails but no response.
To solve your problem, couple of ways: 1. when you copy paste the url, you have a space in front of »... remove the space and try. 2. If you use router and DHCP, your Sipura IP might have got changed when you power off and on. Check dialing 110# to get right IP address and access the ip.
I tried using voxilla wizard but no luck. The configuration steps from broadvoice is pretty good. But you have to start their configuratino, after resetting the device. Only problem with this config steps is they will lock the admin functionality once it is registered. You have to call them to get the admin password. I am still trying to get someone to give me admin password for the past 2 days....still trying.... |

| Turned out the last number of the IP address changed. Had to reboot everything and unplug everything. It works if it's plugged directly into the cable modem. My netgear MR614 router doesn't seem to allow this to work. We spend a half hour on the phone (finally got through on my last attempt b4 going to work) He seemed like he really didn't know what to do. I realize that it is now the router and he suggested getting a router that has VOIP options for mine might be a little older. I will mess with it tonight. Thanks |

| I have the same configuration you have. I am also using sipura 3000 with netgear 614. I am connected to my sipura via router. But i assigned a static ip using mac address of sipura. So, if you disconnect and reconnect the ip won't get changed. You can also configure your sipura to take static ip from router. I have the following: static ip: 192.168.1.20 gateway: 192.168.1.1 (my routers ip) subnetmask: 255.255.255.0 primary dns: 192.168.1.1 secondary dns:192.168.1.1
Make sure that you are assigining the same static ip to your sipura MAC in your router. When you copy paste the url to update the profile from broadvoice, they will add their own servers to primary and secondary dns servers. You don't need to do anything. |

| Thanks thameema:
Tech support had me go here: »www.portforward.com/netgear/rp61···ding.htm
In step 5, I entered the IP address that the Sipura box gave me (****110) & clicked on add server. He had me change the start port and stop port numbers (Im at work cant remember exactly but was like 5530 & 5560) That didnt work.
If you have the time can you take me step by step. Im learning but this IP, Static, Pots stuff is getting to be a headache?
I got these directions to setup a static line, but am not sure if its right: »www.portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm
------------------------------------------------------ Okay, Im in front of my computer. I have my computer in output #1 of the router and the SPA 3000 on output # 2
1. I will verify my IP address on the SPA 3000 (***110) 2. Next? Sorry |

| reply to bnbhoha Re: [BroadVoice] HELP setup my SPA 3000 w/ Broadvoice.
Came home today from work, unplugged everything and plugged it back it (I did this before: modem, router, SPA 3000). I turned them on in the order I unplugged them. It seems to work now. I had to re-arrange everything and had to unplug the SPA 3000. When I plugged it back in, it didn't work so I unplugged everything again and it still didn't work and I did it one last time and now everything works.
I hope this doesn't happen frequently; this is going to be my worry. Looks like I cannot get into my netgear menu. my password and username were defaults. Is this what you meant when you said they changed the admin password?
In a nutshell, this is what tech support did. 1. We went into netgear's configuration page 2. I clicked on the port forwarding tab on left 3. I selected HTTP and entered my SPA 3000 IP address there and clicked on add 4. I then clicked on HTTP and did "edit service" and changed the numercial values of the start port and end port per tech support (can't remember the #s 5510 & 5560?) 5. unplugged everything
Hope this lasts. I tried calling them at 12am, 2am, 3am and got cut off and now they don't even answer the phone. I wanted to make sure all the configurations etc. were correct. |

| reply to bnbhoha Wanted to give update. Finally got everything situated. Basically w/ the router (I have RP614) you would want to do this:
1. Go into the router configuration 2. Go to port forwarding 3. select "add custom service" 4. You are going to do this 3 times & you use your SPA 3000 IP address (get that turning on phone ****110#) Broadvoice recommends calling the title BV Port 1 etc.
Name Start Stop #1 BV Port 1 69 69 #2 BV Port 2 5060 5063 #3 BV Port 3 10,000 20,000
I don't know what the numbers represent, but that's what they wanted me to enter into my router. Good luck. I will update how things go. |
