I used to use Verizon DSL with their phone service for $90 a month, with OOL I wind up paying the same price for better internet (and phone) plus cable TV. So for me..the decision was simple, especially with my DSL crapping out and the techs blaming it on me (Check the NYC Verizon threads to see how much trouble people have been having). After a year, FIOC should be available, so the cost should stay low or get even lower, so I'm pretty happy with the setup. |

For me it was not really "better internet", just faster internet. As the price went up, usenet access deteriorated to a point where I subscribed to a third party provider, effectively upping my monthly fee by $12. Usenet isn't a big deal for most I guess but it killed OOL for me.
