Your System - January 2005

Post your system specs if you've built/bought a new system during the month of January.

If you've changed your system, put "ADDED" next to the new component(s).

If you haven't changed anything - don't post!

My girlfriend says I need some serious help. This has been built from scratch over the past five weeks. I'll swap out the old part and put in the new.

ASUS P4C800 E-Deluxe Mobo
ADDED Pentium 4 3.2Ghz 1MB L2 Cache 800 FSB
ADDED 300GB Maxtor 7200 RPM SATA HDD
(4 sticks) Kingston 512MB DDR400 (optimized for dual channel)
450W Mad-Dog Multimedia Dual-Fan PSU
Toshiba CD-RW Drive
Generic CD-ROM Drive
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB Video Card
Creative Labs SB Live! Sound Card
On Board Network Adapter
Sony SDM-HS94S 19" Flat Panel Monitor
ADDED Windows XP Pro SP2

Other changes to note: added my Tivo box to my home network (can't wait for TivoToGo!)

Still to do: Swapping out generic CD-Rom Drive to buy a dual layer DVD+/-R/RW Drive.

This rig hangles pong with almost no flicker!

My motherboard only supports two RAM slots. My system originally had an 128 MB RAM chip - but, earlier in 2004, I added an 512 MB RAM chip to run at a full 640 MB RAM. Now, today, I finally decided to max out my system to 1 Gig RAM --- took out the 128 MB RAM chip and installed an extra 512 MB RAM = 1024 MB - 1.00 GB!
