What service pack are you on? None, 1 or 2. As for where you got it, did you go here www.java.com and click this button? -- O! - H! ..... I! - O! |

| said by SheDevil :thanks GILXA1226.. I used the "Offline" one and it worked. Can u tell me why? lol A lot of people have had problems with the online installer, me included. Took me about 3 days to figure out that was my problem. Now I make sure I always use the offline installer. I think there is a large problem with the way they download the files in the online installer... something gets corrupted or something. It just doesn't work right.
I'm glad that fixed it for you. -- O! - H! ..... I! - O! |

| reply to SheDevil That's strange because I've never had a problem using the network installer. That's not to say that because I haven't then others wouldn't or shouldn't. But I wonder if might have something to do with the user's AV software configuration? I don't run background AV. -- Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness. . . Isa. 5:20 |

AV could be a culprit... but not in my case since I even tried the network install with the AV completely off. -- O! - H! ..... I! - O! |

That is only an issue on mozilla browsers that weren't installed using an install program (ie they were simply unzipped and run). I don't think that has been an issue since Firefox .6, IIRC. -- O! - H! ..... I! - O! |
