You can check out these guys who support alarm monitoring over IP connections using a separate ATA. So you could use any VoIP provider with one ATA and the second ATA would handle your alarm.

Rewording the title to "Best alarm system to use VOIP service with?" seems the forward thinking answer.

I don't have an alarm system, and I'm not sure how easy it is to get out of those contracts . . . I wonder how many are like NextAlarm?
