I'm wondering the same thing really. But at $180 for the new router who is willing to try it out and see? Other than the gigabit ports and cool looking black paint, I don't see any real difference.

What I'm also wondering is that if the chipset is the same, maybe they figured out what was wrong with the DI-624 firmware. Maybe the DGL-4300 won't have the same reboot issues.

When available I will get one. Ports and processing power interest me. I will let you know, right now I have a DI-624
running great for 6 + months. So in my case the router will have a lot to live up to.

My 624 runs okay if I don't use the turbo mode, which defeats the purpose of why I bought it. I'm going to get the Belkin pre-n router after the holidays.

Well it does not reboot, has lots of menu features, popped right into place with out a problem so far.

If it's as reliable as you suggest, it would be interesting to use with my current G650 cards. I am considering buying the Belkin Pre-N router, but would need the associated cards to get the benefits. That would increase my overall cost.

Well I have 2 PCs with DWL-G520 using the Atheros 3.1.1.48 driver, I have 2 Buffalo Ethernet Converter. All seems to work fine, the only weirdness is I have a GrandStrean IP
phone connected to one of the Buffalo Converters here are the syslog entries:

OK, I let the 4300 be my only router for 24 hours, it handled my Virtual Server needs, 2 port forwarded IP Cameras, DMZ web server and FTP server (receiving data uploads of 1.6 gig) connecting 3 PCs and 2 FreeBSD boxes to the net, one FreeBSD box is the server the second is RSYNCH back up of the first and 2 HP Network printers. No lan connection losses, NO reboots. VOIP, P2P and VPN all worked and were reliable, except I had VPN drop outs with XPs Client, much less with the ASTARO Secure client, but unfortunately for my needds I require Router to Router VPN so I will utilize much less of the 4300. But my combination of the DGL-4300 and the DI-804HV are rock solid, but my DI-624 was not far behind in comparison, the DGL-4300
truly cut latency in half with most connections, and my DI-624 could never handle all of my Vitual server needs and for that matter nor could the D-824VUP (designed as all in one) or the Linksys WRV54G (Linksys all in one). I find D-Link in this combination to be rock solid and a fast in regards to it's wireless connectivity. So in all FIRMWARE 1.0 was 'Plug & Play'..................

I think its using a different chipset but I'm not positive. From what I read its using Ubicom's StreamEngine Technology. I would assume that means its using Ubicom's processor IP3023.

The gaming router kicks serious A**. The DI-624 and the DGL-4300 only share the case design, everything on the inside is completely new. Ubicom really did a great job with their Intelligent Packet Prioritization engine allowing this gaming router to give priority to on-line gaming connections over other Internet traffic automatically. The automatic mode even helps with VoIP traffic, reducing delay and jitter compared to any normal router by a great deal.

The generous number of NAT sessions, Schedules, and Firewall rules makes this router a good choice for most any application beyond gaming. The Gamefuel technology can be configured manually to assign priority to any protocol/application. $180 MSRP for the GigE ports is enough to tempt any serious Networking Gurus....

Can't forget about the blue LEDs. I mean, who has blue LEDs? And the "leather" black finish is soft and stylish. Its nice to see that D-Link finally released a High-Quality NAT router for the home.
