I use a OS called smoothwall it is free »smoothwall.org requires an old computer and 2 nic cards i have it installed on an old 233 mhz computer works very well i have 4 computers hooked up to it

| I agree ... Smoothwall is a very good solution. Its easy to install and setup. It helps you reuse older hardware that might be hanging around. It has a very good support from the Community and good ad-on mods too..

| reply to hrickpa i just fail to see how those 4 machines could run at the full potential when they are rounted though the internet via an old machine that should be scrap metal by now.........LOL it doesnt make sense........run a 3.5 gig machine through a .266 gig one.........o well |

join:2001-06-07 Reading, PA | the computer is acting like a router. it is alot faster than a router most cpu's in a router is 16 bit aranging from 12 mhz to 80 mhz. some of the older one are using an 8 bit cpu @ 8 mhz |
