nothing new

I have been able to view my reports and even get TXT notifications if there are any changes or inquries on my credit profile sent to my phone and e-mail.

I think its a great tool when done securely.

Re: firefox

I don't use that site though. However, equifax offers the same thing on their own site and firefox works there.

Worked for me, you can't direct link, go to properties and then copy and paste the url

Tried both FF and IE, neither work. Site must be broken.

Same thing for me. I'm using IE, and the site comes up, but if I click on the different regions, nothing happens.

Well, by nothing I don't go to a new page....When I move the mouse over the region, or the table under the map, data comes up on the right side of the map to show the states that are in that region.

I think what may be throwing people off is that the mouse pointer changes from the default Arrow, to the one used to indicate a link (in my case, the hand). So, one would assume that you could click, and then go to a new page, or see more information.

Clicking on the different regions of the map does change the URL

www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp#SouthernStates
www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp#WesternStates
etc

but, nothing else appears to happen.

If they are not really links, then don't make them appear to be links!

The site is not broken. The credit reports will not be available until December 1st. My guess, they'll have the website active around that time.

It's nothing new, except for the free part. You no doubt subscribe to a service from one of the credit reporting agencies. The notification services as well as unlimited or multiple access will still be available as subscription services. Free credit reports were usually available on a "trial" subscription basis from various companies, but you would have to cancel within a short time.

Federal law used to require free reports only when you were declined credit based on information in an agency's report. The creditor was required to mail you a "dear John" notice with the addresses of the credit reporting agencies. Certain states required free reports, others limited the fee to various amounts between $ and $12. This new federal law requires free reports, once a year, to all consumers, from all three reporting agencies.
