Java will not work on XP SP2

I have gotten the plug in from the Sun site and it still does not work. This is all I get. I think there is an issue with SP2 and XP and Java. Anybody have a fix?

My XP SP2 with Sun Java has zero problems. You may have other software 'fighting' with each other causing the problems.

I have turned everything else off. I turned off norton and my software firewall. I sit behind a nat router but that should make no difference as half the world probably does too in some respect. I have tried IE and Netscape no go. Other Java apps work but the speed tests give me a red x and say that java applet failed to load. I do IT support for a living so I think I know my machine. I will try yet a third browser to see what is going on but all these JAVA's need to stop. This is getting nuts. Three different versions tried and none are giving results.

It's having issues finding the needed files on the server, that is the error you are getting.

Going throught the same Java problems. Spent HOURS trying to straighten it out. First, my Norton Utilities were all messed up. Got that back and lost Java. Trying this now: Microsoft.com website....diagnostic tool for Microsoft VM 1.0a Hoping this will work. I too, am going NUTS!!! And this computer is only 3 months old!
