Here ya go. This is in Internet Options>Privacy. Click Edit.
You'll need to edit the iframe source so you can see the login page. Login, and it should show the normal page.

Also, replace dslreoprts.com with dslreports.com/aboutload if you want to load it faster. (You won't be loading the larger homepage anymore.

I doubt it has anything to do with the settings. Check your html code, you may have to tweak the dimensions. I had to do that on mine. Not everyone's desktops or browsers are set the same, so dimensions must be altered per-user.

I too went a little further with this. Press and hold Shift while you click here, and watch the bottom right corner of your screen. Do not just click it, or your current window will disappear.

When you've got a message and the icon flashes, you can click on the red DSLR icon below the IM icon to go and read the message. You can have the launcher window open all the time. The little popup opens by clicking the launcher window in the toolbar(by setting focus to it). While the launcher window is in focus you open the popup by writing 'IM' on you keyboard. The popup closes when it looses focus, and that's how you close it - click somewhere else. The invisible launcher window is closed by right clicking it in the toolbar and choosing 'close'(can be tricky, you'll see, but you'll get the hang of it).

Feel free to save the above link as a bookmark, or even better, create a shortcut on the desktop. Just remember to open it in a new window.

I can upload the files in a post if someone is interested. Also feel free to suggest improvements.

Here are the files as requested, with some adjustments and improvements. 'launcher.html' is the file to run. The two files must lie in the same folder.

I had to download IE6 again after cleaning my HD and reloading Win2k. MS site has build 2479 now and I think it includes that option. Or you can just wait until 8/13 when the final version is release from what I've read.

You need to unlock the active desktop window by right clicking the desktop, and unselecting Lock the desktop. Then hold your mouse over the window and it should be sizeable.

The only thing you might want to change is the body bg color, and the refresh rate. It's set at black background and a refresh rate of 5 minutes now.
Ping Pong (and anyone else that may be able to help), I downloaded the dslrim.html file, but when I open it, it opens in a full window, with the envelope in the upper right corner of the window, with the rest of the page being blue. I have tried it with both active desktop enabled and disabled, but I can't seem to be getting it to work properly. I'm using IE5.5 on 98 - any ideas?

ergibbs,
First; I updated the page and I happened to upload the one which I had set the background to suite my own desktop color. It's blue background now, not black as I said.

The dslrim.html page isn't supposed to look very good if opened regularly in a browser. It's optimized to be an active desktop object. Go to the 'Web' tab in the desktop control panel applet and choose 'New'. Put in the path to the dslrim.html page. Now mouse over the object on the desktop and resize it so that only the little yellow icon is visible. Doesn't that work ergibbs??

The reason I chose to go with the popup version myself, other than that it was fun scripting practice, is because Active Desktop, how nifty it may be, slows the computer down a lot. Also you don't have to minimize all windows to be able to see if you've got a message, on the desktop... The impopup launcher lies hidden at the bottom, and you just click it or type 'im' to bring it up.

Of course it worked. And why shouldn't it? It's the correct way to do it! Why wasn't it working for me? Because I'm a rock and forgot all about having to add it to the active desktop. I swear, if my head wasn't attached...

Simple. Just drag dslrim.htm into the quick launch area in your taskbar. It works.

Nope, it's just a normal web page which can be viewed through Active Desktop, like any other web page.

CJPC: Sorry, I thought you were sarcastic before.
