| Baked Apple...G3 PowerBook?
I wish I had my digicam so I could show you this.
A part-time designer was prepping a Keynote presentation on an old 500MHz G3 PowerBook today when the screen turned off. And the power wouldn't come on. And smoke came out from the bottom of the PowerBook.
Sure enough -- there's a dime sized hole in the bottom of the G3. And in the cover of the book that it was sitting on. Yikes!
Any idea why this would've happened? I'll post pictures as soon as I can take them.

| reply to IronChefMoto Well, whatever was plugging up that dime-sized hole released and let all of the smoke out of the laptop.
That happens quite often with many electronic gadgets I own as well.
Good luck replacing the smoke, that's one part that is difficult to order. Maybe Dv could get you the part numbers. -- »netdotcom.org |

| reply to IronChefMoto The part-time designer had it sitting on a book. The laptop zonked at, at which point he smelled smoke. He lifted up the laptop, and found a hole in the bottom of it, smoking, of course. He also saw that whatever went out in a blaze of G3 glory also burned through the cover and 2-3 pages of the book on which the G3 was sitting.
Too bad we need the laptop for a presentation this week.
