| Quick Connect kit help
Hello, So I am switching from shaw to Telus. I have some questions regarding the quick connect kit.
There's only 1 port on the 2nd floor in the master bed room. this port is split into 4 ports, using a 1-4 splitter, going to each room on the 2nd floor. My room is about 10m away from the master bed room. and the cable coming from the master bed room to my room is like 15m.
I have two solutions in mine.
1. Add a splitter to split my phone cable from the other cable. add another splitter in my room, one goes to the modem and one goes to my phone.
2. Add a splitter in the master bedroom, one connects to the "1 to 4" splitter and the other goes to the modem @ the master bed room. then connect it to my room using a network cable.
which one is better? or is there even better alternatives? millions of thanks in advance.
P.S. the box of my Quick install kit said that the modem is made in taiwan. Infact it's made in China. should I tell Telus about this? |

1 edit | Splitter will degrade your performance. If you got some $, I would highly recommend you consider wireless. No cables, no hassle, nothing to trip over, no mouse bites
Telus won't care about who made the modem. Why bother when it is working? |
