Do you call Canada? Do you want to do follow-me, where no answer might ring additional lines? Do you call Europe much? Do you have a price range in mind? Are you concerned about 911 calling? Do you want an 800# too? Will you keep your land line? . . .
You see the two I use in my Sig. They have pros and cons to each. -- Jim -- USA2K SEE: DCWU | FAH |PICS | VoIP on FWD, Vonage 01-28-03, & BVX 07-05-04 |

1 edit | I recommend trying a few. Your Voip is only going to be as good as the weakest part of your connection and there are now many quality voip providers out there. Try Packet8 of course. At $20.55/month - Great quality, price and free features. You should be able to get a local number and they offer E911 if you want to pay for it. If you purchase it through Jr.com, you will have it next day with No activation or disconnection charges, 2 months free service, you own the device, and it is free after the rebate. After the 2 month trial you can keep it for $20.55/month or cancel it for no charge. I haven't found a better service or price for voip without the service issues. The service has been down for 10 minutes twice in the last 4 months. BBR is a great source of voip info. Read the last few weeks of threads here and you will have a good idea of the providers performance. Few threads usually = few problems. |

4 edits | reply to usa2k Do you call Canada? (Not VoicePulse)
Do you want to do follow-me, where no answer might ring additional lines?(BroadVoxDirect, VoicePulse, maybe ATT CV?)
Do you call Europe much? (BroadVoice)
Do you have a price range in mind?(Vonage $25, BroadVoxDirect $19.95, VoicePulse $24.99, Packet8 $19.99, . . . ATT CV $30.)
Are you concerned about 911 calling? (Vonage, Packet8, soon BroadVoxDirect, . . . mixed success from each.)
Do you want an 800# too? (Vonage, QuantumVoice.)
Will you keep your land line? (Sipura SPA3000, and is it Lingo??)
Vonage is promoting referrals by offering 2 months credit now. The new subscriber gets one free month. Note: You can likely get better deals with Vonage at many retail outlets. If they are really your friends, you would redirect them, not refer them.
VoicePulse is waiving the $30 activation for their $25 unlimited 50 State coverage. -- Jim -- USA2K SEE: DCWU | FAH |PICS | VoIP on FWD, Vonage 01-28-03, & BVX 07-05-04 |
