Ok.. no more fighting on evdo vs. wifi... they are now compatible... or better said... complementary... you can now do evdo sharing over wifi using a small converter router...

| reply to BosstonesOwn Cheap considering that they are mobile, pricy compared to dialup, dsl or cable. If I was mobile, and had 'good' connectivity at home, I'd be using a datacard or tethered phone. At home, my 26.95 dsl (1500/256) is cheap, and at work, my DS-3 (12 users) is damn fast

| reply to en102 1x and 1xrtt are cheap now if you purchase an agreement. I run about 40 megs a day over it on verizon and pay less then $75 a month. But I also have company phones threw verizon as well. -- "It's always funny until someone gets hurt......and then it's absolutely friggin' hysterical!" |

| reply to Estragon Yeah, I live far enought away that anything other than phone lines and power will run out here. Wireless connection would be fine with me. Now I also like to game so I'd LIKE to have something lower than 500ms, I get about 250-900 depending, and that is over 56k! (Good dial-up commpany, Shentel)
If anything like that was out here I'd get it, but yes truly ment for field use. |

not cheap ass over-priced 500 down 100 up wi-fi
Maybe they should be working on fiber, but it's going to take at least 20 years to roll it out. What should we use in the meantime?
Those of us in dialup hell would kill for 500 down 100 up. |
