What model is that APC unit on the wall? Is it a battery or just a cable management piece. I could not make out the model from the photo.

Thanks,

Hey ... Just as (Woof-Woof) stated the Power supply is an APC special product , it's very similar to the one Comcast uses for there Digital Phone Service , it's called an LPSU (Line Power Supply Unit Model#AN15U48D) enlosed is a few pics , the unit has the ability to report any voltage issues , increase or decrease voltage for ONT, and if the back-up battery (which kicks in when AC power is not present and the ONT goes to a safe mode of only allowing POTS service until AC power is restored)is not taking a charge or dead , all this information is sent back through the ONT's maintenance PLOAM packets back to the NOC. Enclosed is a pic of the familiar AFC ONT 610 for Single Family homes , and the 620 for MDU/MTU properties. Just as a heads up for these properties your properties existing inside building cable infrastructure will be used. Either the AFC 620/640 will be deployed in your basement and all services will then be cross connected to the existing infrastructure. There will be some experiments taking place on some buildings , as we no FTTP is based on PON (Passive Optical Network) format which can be at its highest of 1x32 , so this will be played on in some buildings (New Construction). If your one of the properties that has a crappy infrastructure now , you maybe lucky in getting Verizon to install a new or add what maybe needed without any costs being transferred over to the buidling property. In the urban areas it will be interesting to see what can be agreed as we all will see if the FCC truly allows no other CLEC's to ride over the same Verizon fiber installation. If not dont expect VZ to rush to update your infrastructure in the MDU/MTU market ... we shall see ...
