Its a lot cheaper to ditch ADT and use a different alarm system. I installed a Concord system and use NextAlarm.com for monitoring. Works flawlessly with my Vonage.
In addition, many alarm companies support wireless transmission to their monitoring sites via cellular or other radio transmission. This is even more reliable than being on a POTS line that a burglar could cut the wires to.
I found ADT just a little too set in their ways and dumped them. You don't have to feel locked in unless you signed one of their term contracts. The smaller, more personal alarm companies don't require contracts. Just month to month monitoring fees. I paid a year at once and it works out to $8.95/month with NextAlarm.com.
Hope this is food for thought. There are a lot of alarm systems and alarm companies out there that are a lot easier to deal with. |
