| Spyware..
You people say your Anti Spyware program catches it all. How do you really know!!?? Most of this stuff works in the background, and majority of people don't even know they have any problems. Most complaints I get are 'My computer is running slow, etc..' That's when I do a check and have found on one system over 800 spyware program/files on his system (not including cookies). Thing is, you only need one piece of spyware on your system (keylogger, etc..) to cause major problems.
Don't go around saying 'Oh, my system is clean' when you truly don't have any proof of it. Run all the scanners in the world, but I can almost assure you, you are infected as long as you are connected to the internet. | | jester121

That's a bit drastic, don't you think? If you're running a quality software firewall with egress filtering you should be immediately notified if any newly installed software attempts to phone home to the mother ship. That, combined with properly configured browser security settings, is enough to keep a PC clean.
There's enough FUD out there without fanning the flames... | |
