Just Talked to comcast on the phone.....The Guide Has Been Pushed Back To January....
So I guess we wont have it until March? |

I have 2 2244's here and havent received it yet.....that sucks. I don't remember the exact date. One box in the bedroom had it on it when I turned it on one weekend morning. Maybe three weeks ago. The other 2244, I had sitting in the basement, not connected. I called in to say that I plugged it in finally and they sent a hit to the box and it came up with the new guide on it. That was two weeks ago. My wife is a Comcast employee, so that may be the reason that we have the guide and no one else does in the area??? Maybe??? |

No. It still only fills up the 4:3 area on HDTV channels. Except now the video is scaled in a box, so there's black bars on the left and right sides, instead of them being transparent to the playback. However, because the guide actually does at least utilize the entire 4:3 width, it doesn't seem as blatantly wasteful as it did on the 6208.
We love our iGuide/6412 dual tuner. No reboots or issues, scheduling has worked great, but we don't have VOD here yet.

Since a lot of the issues appear to be VOD related, I wonder if the majority of the areas that have the i-Guide are areas that don't have VOD yet. Kind of ironic, the more advanced areas are the ones behind with the new guide. 
Still, I say let Comcast take their time in working out the bugs. Say what you want about the tan guide, it works.

I went to the Corliss office to get it myself, to avoid paying the $15 setup fee (hey, I already give them $150/mo!). When I called to ask about availability, they offered me a truck roll or to pick it up in person. The Corliss office knew exactly what I meant when I asked for the "dual tuner DVR." Took all but 2 minutes to complete the swapping of my DCT-5100 there in the office. |
