They won't

The bells won't leave them alone
QWEST spent more money stopping a muni in our county than the cost of deploying DSL over the whole county
now we have neither.

Sounds like the same tactics used by big oil companies. We could easily invest funds into researching and implementing alternatives energy sources. But no.. the usurpers of our government have chosen to keep America (and now the world) in a stranglehold by the balls to keep us addicted to using the Texas Tea.

It wouldn't take too much to free ourselves from Middle Eastern oil and subsequently remove our troops from the region. Which would have the following result of "calming down" the entire region.

But no.. we have to keep up the shinanigans that result in the unnecessary spilling of blood.

So back to broadband. Just like the government who is setting the most exemplary example, they want to follow in their footsteps and be able to control the market to their advantage and rape the people for all they are worth. What else is new right?

What's the point is spending more $$$ to suppress innovation and growth. Just get the job done and get the goods out there.

My 2 cents.

Let your strong left wing bias show through pls. Thanks! Little did you know that 65 to 70% of our oil comes from South America. Stop watching CNN my friend.

According to the DOE (they should know, right?) crude from S. American countries totals 3258 thousand barrels/day out of a total import of 9665 thousand barrels/day for 2003.
(2004 figures aren't out yet, but S. America imports are bound to be down due to Venezuela)

That's 33.709%.
NOT 60-75%.

Regardless of what you watch, do your own fact checking.
It's not hard.
