 Milwaukee and Kansas City???

...but no Chicago? Chicago is one of the largest wireless markets in the country. Is VZW afraid that it won't be able to keep up with demand?

...and I highly doubt that people buying this service are doing so to replace their home broadband service. 500k for 80 bucks or 6000kbps for 45...which one would you pick.

Maybe some cows can use it on the farm.

Well I'd thing its more for traveling professionals who need internet access outside where ever they go on their laptop or pocket pc.

Actually DSLReports has the speeds wrong.

I've been getting between 720 and 935 kbps download speeds so far.

Since my only option is ISDN or 26.4 dial up(Broadband is not as ubiquitous as some may believe:( )this looks pretty good considering it is portable.

Any one know if you can do ICS with this technology?

The only problem is that the only card they currently sell is pcmcia. This means that only laptops can use it. (there are SOME pocket pc's that support pcmcia, but probably less than 5% of the market). This service is currently only meant for use by business customers who travel with their laptop. Verizon "should" be releasing phones that support ev-do in early 2005, but I do not see ev-do SD cards or even CF cards coming out ever, or at least for a loooooong time!
