Where is people's guilt that will do these kinds of things? I just don't get it. Sure its not as bad as murder, hurting someone, etc but still its up there in the list.

Exactly. Capitalism is not a license to steal. If everything was legit we wouldn't need the SEC or any of the other regulatory bodies that are out there. Crooks like Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling think the same way as some of the posters here. My guess is that if any of them were ripped off they would be the loudest squealers. Of COURSE the folks that bought this stuff should have researched and shopped around, and were somewhat dumb, but they are still victims. I remember here in Chicago some con guy scammed a little old lady into getting her house tuck-pointed because he told her the house had "cancer of the bricks." It might have been dumb of her to accept that but it was still a con game and illegal. Off with their heads! |
