I got the memo today

I got the memo in my mailbox today that said 4000/256 for 44.95 and 4000/384 for 79.95 as of sept. 1st. I think it is a copy of what will be going out to customers but I am not totally sure.

Well we know how the 4000/384 will go over around here. Hopefully that October upgrade isn't just a rumor. Because that is a lot of extra money to pay for just an extra 128 up. People thought users went ape for having to pay that for an extra 256 - well 128 is going to make it worse.

On a positive note. Thank you for adding solid confirmation to the rumor mill. We'd seen some solid evidence that this was going to happen. But nice to get yet another source confirming things.

I can honestly say I'll be taking a 128 upload hit. If I don't see solid confirmation soon of an October upgrade for the current 3000/384 tier. I'm not going to pay $30 extra for just 128 more up. That just doesn't make any sense.

I agree Iggy...if there's not some "official" confirmation regarding the "proposed upgrade" to the current 3000/384 tier, I'm going to save my $35 per month.

Are all Insightbb customers going to receive this upgrade? Or just some selected areas? I'm curios if Bowling Green, KY is getting the 4000/256 upgrade.

Here's a tiny bit of useless info.
A friend of mine called Insight (Bowling Green, KY) last Thursday to see about getting hooked up. He was going over the tiers with the rep trying to decide which was best for his needs but told the rep he didn't really want to pay any more than he had to and would start out with the lower tier, the 3000/128. The rep told him that we should be seeing an increase to 4000/256 in about a month at no additional cost.
For me it's still a "I'll believe it when I see it" situation but it was nice to hear it from yet another source that an upgrade could be in the works. The rep did not give him a date, just said in about a month.
I'd be very curious to know why a rep would tell someone who is setting an appointment to have the line installed but they won't confirm it to customers they already have.

»Re: blah

Worth a look. If this "rumor" becomes true. Many 3000/384 users will happy individuals.

Please keep the information flowing to us.:)

"Are all Insightbb customers going to receive this upgrade?"

From what we've seen stated so far. And from what many of us have posted in other threads. The answer would be yes. And no price increase at this time.

I hope so Here in Lafayette IN. We have 3000/128. But as of late it's been like 2712/112. My Vonage works when it wants to work. This upgrade would make me very happy. Sure could use the upload speed, so I can work on my website.

You could call, email or visit your local office for more information. One user saw a sign in there local office announcing this, another user spoke with someone in there local office who confirmed the upgrade - these users started there own threads in regards to this. So it doesn't seem as if Insight is playing hide and seek about upgrades this time around. Several reliable sources have also confirmed this. So from what I've seen - after Sept 1 all current 3000/128 users should see an upgrade. Or the upgrade should start to filter out to some regions. Hopefully all customers will see it at once. Instead of in stages - like past upgrades.

3000/384 users are in for an upgrade sometime soon. What speed they will get is still up in the air.

Everyone I've seen report this so far. Has stated - NO price increase is coming with the upgrade. Let us hope Insight follows through with this. Definitely a good PR move for them.

Thanks for the update robbym627 See Profile...I'll wait to see how much they "value" the extra $35 per month before I pat them on the back.

I don't know that it's been confirmed for the Louisville area but would assume if everyone else is getting the upgrade, Louisville should get it also.

I just confirmed with the local CSR that Southern Indiana will get it, which means Louisville should get it too.
