Re: The site reads

im sorry but how exactly does this add up to a scam? I am just not seeing how anyone has proved anything against this juice thing. They claim to have a new technology and while I dont see anything proving it's existance yet (becuase i have only been doing research for an hour now at 5am and I am tired) I do not see anything that proves that they dont have it. Am I missing something huge? Maybe becuase I am tired I just cant catch it. But I keep reading the alert and I dont see anything specific as to what or why or how it is what you are all claiming it to be. I do agree that the way some of it is written is a bit stupid. "way past faster than broadband" has to be the best line ever. But still ... please help me out here ...

for starters, 2mbit connection over dialup is physically impossible

Yeah, and I bet you were one of those jacknozzles who defended that company that had developed "perfect compression" a few years ago on here..

What was their name? I forget completely, because nothing became of them.

How's this, sporto:

NO technology can stop all spam with e-mail the way it is.

NO technology can make dialup faster than broadband.

NO technology can detect that the person chatting on the other end of the line is really a 47 year old naked guy.

Nevermind for FREE, and they'll PAY YOU IF YOU GET A SPAM/VIRUS.

It's called COMMON SENSE, "antho2000".

Broadband on dialup IS possible, it's called ADSL!

Well, I do agree that this looks like a scam, but revolutionary compression techniques would allow for greater bandwidth!

ADSL uses "dial-up" to achieve broadband, remember?

But all the other promises they make are ridiculous...

Fraggy.

sorry, 42kbps is 42kbps, no matter how shitty you make the graphics look.

Re: Broadband on dialup IS possible, it's called ADSL!

Sorry but ADSL doesn't actually use "Dial up" it uses the same wiring, but it operates at a different frequency to the standard phone network, and is a Digital signal as the name implies. A "Dial up" connection uses the standard telephone network sending Analogue signals using a modem (MOdulator DEModulator) to convert the digital data to an analogue signal and convert it back to digital data at the other end. Telephone calls are Analogue signals. This Juice Boost is a total scam, there are no two ways about it.

Get your facts straight, you're confusing DSL and dial-up.

Juice outter here

hey this caused serious problems.. I had a site on my server for some dick wad, This after noon bank holiday Monday it all went Pear shaped yip with a capital P for puck me Jesus..

I had a old copy of apache-mod-perl running ver 1.3 it kicked into life to day serving up the dick wads page and god know what other private info..

I never seen it come up on it own b4..

it also changed my computers host name to the site I was hosting this is what lead me to it.
After running apachectl extendudstatus finding it as busie as hell..
changing my computer name back again and restarting the box to find eth0 wouldn't come up.. Oh dear ifconfig seem to get it going again..

just dont know what else they have messed with..
its bad shi* not just a scam!!

all trace of the site has now gone, lets hope the morning dosent turn up anything..

Could it be the next slapper worm..

Juice boost for some..

unstalled apache 1.3 has now gone let apache 2 hold the fort for the night..

Re: Broadband on dialup IS possible, it's called ADSL!

Broadband is ADSL. Broadband is the marketing term used because it was realised that most people could not cope with asymmetric digital subscriber line. This scam just proves they were right. As Barnum said "There's one born every minute." I guess he underestimated the numbers.

There are other variations of broadband sdsl, vdsl ad infinitum but they are all variations on the technology.

A thought occurs. If this had been launched to go live on 1st April everyone would have smelled it immediately. Therefore move it 6 months and you have the world's biggest gotcha! Let's hope it is no more malicious than this. However it has still been a very successful human generated virus with all the emails it has created.

What do you need? A PC, webspace and some technical knowhow to create a site which most 10 year olds and up have these days.

Could be the biggest joke yet. At least you now know who your stupidist friends are and who to trust for advice.

"Broadband is ADSL. Broadband is the marketing term used because it was realised that most people could not cope with asymmetric digital subscriber line."

um no, Broadband was a term coined to cover protocols and such that could handle and send large amounts of data, Satellite, ISDN and Cable are classed as broadband. So ADSL is broadband, but not the other way around;
