Question...
Anyone know if Tivo or Dish Receivers can use Vonage to make the necessary calls? |

Yes, but you need to slow it down to 9600 baud by entering the correct dialing codes... do a search on »www.tivocommunity.com/ to find it, I can't remember what it was offhand.

| reply to chesney09 My Tivo uses the network connection, i.e. through a turbonet adapter, and my Series 2 TiVo uses a USB to ethernet dongle.
My daily calls go through the internet.
The DTV calls never goes thru, and I don't really need it either. DTV doesn't seem to care either.
I don't really order PPV, and if I need to I can just order it over the internet on their website, so no problems there.
I don't even bother sending the calls through the vonage box. The broadband connection is better and doesn't tie up your phone line. |
