| Its the People too, but I hate the scams for this! Is this anything new? I work at tech support and people get these rediculous programs "SpySpotter, SpyZapper", etc. It's all crap. There are three good spyware protection apps:
SpyBot Search & Destroy
AdAware
AOL Spyware Protection (Not the best, but better than nothing!)
People ought to know better. Damn these scam artists to hell. | |

Spybot's done the job for me all by itself. This past weekend I worked on a machine with a dozen distinct pieces of spyware (300 traces in all, AFTER I cleaned up the obvious stuff manually) and Spybot cleaned it right out after 2 or 3 passes. Even a (thank goodness) low-order CWS infection.
Ad-Aware's not necessary, although it doesn't hurt as a secondary check.

I found that this software crashed my computer while running the virus-scan. Have you had this problem?

I have 512 megs of ram so I guess that compensates a bit?
But it found 2 trojans nortons missed.

I found the A2 Square antivirus to be very slow when trying to run the virus scan part of the program. It may have been a memory corruption problem that caused my computer to crash.
