That and there are those of us who do consulting work on the side. Don't get me wrong, I do take 1-2 weeks a year out for just me and the wife. However, she understands my job just as I understand hers. She is a doctor of pharmacy and works for a local hospital. There are times she is called up or in to help. That is part of her job and I understand that.

It is not my website, it is the websites that I am under contract to operate.
When you have several companies and a few small government accounts that pay you $450/year each to operate and maintain their site, you have to make sure that when something goes wrong, that you can fix it ASAP.
As russotto said, there are no vacations for the self-employed.
