I received one from end of July, and the same day, received the 2 others made on July 15th..

The last one, was a girl saying thanks for calling or something in a foriegn voice, just attributed it to a VM, glitch and deleted it.

But, why it took 15 days to be notified of the two on the 15th was wierd, unless some of the thunder storms knocking out the primary power here, goofed up the MW lite. or something like that, no biggy. stellar service is what I am getting from them.

Re: [Primus] Yet another test voice mail from : 5

Hi guys!

Yep, I too got a total of three weird voice mails; the first was about 2 days ago from an answering machine outgoing message in a foreign woman's voice. From the CallerID which appeared in the e-mail forward that Lingo provides, it appeared to have been either an Indian woman or an Iranian woman and it was as if someone had used my number to call her and then left the line open so that it recorded her outgoing voice-mail announcement. Weird..

The second was another notice of voicemail from the 512 areacode but no voice message was left - that happened I think Sunday evening or perhaps it was early Monday morning. The third one was this evening (Monday evening, August 2nd) and was the same one that Nate Walker reports here from a "Mr. Lesinski" who clearly said "This is just a test message" and then I heard the system kick in with a pre-recorded female voice saying "Forwarded voice message.." and then again Mr. Lesinski saying "Test-1-2-3."

I assume that their prepping for LNPs (hopefully!!!!) or they're simply testing the Lingo feature set..let's just hope it's the LNP scenario as I just today got my $66 Verizon bill!! Can't wait to be able to finally ditch them!

For what it's worth,

Chris R.

Anyone notice that the name is on the email notification. Lingo for now has had only the number portion of caller ID
This usually would say Anonymous or unknown, but now it shows a name.Looks to me like they are working on the name portion also.

Same here, got the "Voice Message Attached from 5123513935 - Lesinski, Jerry" with File-Name: VM_5123513935_20040803_002811.wav.
Also happened couple of days ago as reported by others the answering machine announcement.
It must be a System-Glitch, as I have "always forward" on, you could not leave me a voice-mail, as you would never hit my VM.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I live in Austin Texas (area code 512) and use Packet8. The phone number that they have given me is a 512-351-XXXX number. Since I assume that Packet8 owns all 351 numbers in the 512 area code, perhaps this call is coming to you from a Packet8 customer?

Just a thought.

Talked to a L2 tech and he said the number was a testing number used by Lingo, and he wasn't aware of the voice mail.Said they were probably fixing a problem.I still am curious about the name that was attached to the CID.Will the new firmware that is coming next week include the CID name?I ask the tech and he said that there has been a big demand for it, and the Technicians are using the newer firmware, so if it showed you his name then i don't see why you shouldn't have the same upgrade.

It appears that Packet8 and Primus lease numbers from Level3.

Using FoneFinder you can lookup most exchanges and find out who really owns the number.
